"It's deceiving...For years we've been coming to Charleston & usually eat at Poogan's Porch, but we were blown away by Toast! It was fantastic!"

"I am sitting in "Toast" while writing this. I came here a little over a year ago, and had a great experience. I've been dreaming about your Irish Omelet since the last time I was vacationing here in Charleston and had it then! It was just as fantastic today as I remember it. My server Lisa has been excellent too! Thanks for the best breakfast experience in Charleston!"

I brought my brother and family from So. Calif. who were visiting me in Charlotte, NC into your restaurant on 7/8/10. Our food was truly delicious, but adding to that very nice experience was Sharon Homann. What a terrific waitress, hostess and just all around fun person.
She is awesome, and you have a valued person in your employ!!! Thanks for contributing to our great experience in Charleston.

“I came into Toast last week with my husband and had the peach cobbler. I just wanted to tell you that I wish I had eaten some of the other wonderful foods you serve there too. My friends from Tauk Tours had dinner there and said everything was great. I wanted to let you know how very much I enjoyed the peach cobbler you made and wanted to tell you it was the VERY BEST I have ever had. I thought my grandmother made the best cobbler, but yours was OUTSTANDING…Thank you again for a wonderful treat and I hope to come back to Charleston, SC to eat at your restaurant.”

“My family and I stopped in there on a recent trip to Charleston. We had driven down from Myrtle Beach while on vacation, we were starving after the drive and didn’t know where to stop and grab something to eat before we started our day of sight seeing. We certainly picked the right place! I had never had a crab cake sandwich, it was delicious! My mother was equally impressed with hers.
We will definitely make Toast a stop for lunch next year when we visit Charleston; my mouth is watering for a crab cake sandwich as I write this!”

“We were at your restaurant twice over the Nov. 2nd weekend and just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly and efficient and the food is excellent. The homemade blueberry muffins were so good and the coffee was spectacular. I wished it hadn’t been breakfast because I was dying for a piece of that yummy looking coconut cake. I guess I will just have to come back again! We came down from Maine to visit our son at the Citadel and we were so glad to have discovered your restaurant. We will definitely recommend it to anybody we know visiting the Charleston area.”

“Just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated you and your staff. While staying at the motel, we ate breakfast in your restaurant every morning and everyone was so accommodating. Charleston was the highlight of our trip.”

"I had a Gift Certificate for Toast! so my boyfriend and I decided to venture there for a late breakfast, early lunch. The restaurant was a little busy when we arrived but each person that we came into contact with gave us a warm smile and assured us that someone would be right with us. We only had to wait about 5 minutes and were seated in a back area which was perfect because we had a baby in a stroller with us. As soon as we were seated, our waiter, Gale came and took our drink order. He is a definite asset to your team. He was very kind and professional and really made us feel at home. He stopped by throughout our meal to make sure everything was good and that we were enjoying ourselves. I want to commend Gale for doing such a great job. We'll definitely be back."

"Good yummy Southern food, big portions and affordable. Open on Sundays!...that was the big winner for me. We woke up hungry and really wanted some ham and eggs. Unfortunately not much is open downtown Charleston (except the coffee shops) on Sundays."

"Breakfast....ahhh...The menu has some great gourmet omelettes, local cuisine and the dish recommended by the NY Times: Stuffed French Toast. Ours came with peaches and a peach cider syrup. It was very reminiscent of a lucious bread pudding. Super nice staff kept the coffee and water refills coming. We enjoyed it immensely." From www.tripadvisor.com
"Low-key Jewel. Having seen people waiting outside for several days, we were delighted to arrive at just the right moment to be seated. Service was prompt and friendly. The french toast was incredibly light and delicious. From www.tripadvisor.com |
